About the Kidsgrove Hill Walking Club
Enjoy walking in the countryside but would like to try something a bit more challenging? We are a hill walking club based in Kidsgrove, North Staffs close to the Cheshire border and we organise 12 Sunday outings each year to areas famed for hill walking such as The Lake District, Snowdonia, The Yorkshire Dales as well as The Peak District. To enable us to do this we use a dedicated coach to take us to the heart of these areas. This means we can relax on the journey back to Kidsgrove after an exhilarating day walking in the hills.
The coach picks up and returns to KIdsgrove Secondary School (formerly Maryhill Academy) in Kidsgrove where we have ample car parking facilities. The cost of these trips for members is £15 each (£17 for guests), which represents good value, especially on the longer outings to The Lakes, Wales etc.
We have been a hill walking club for over 30 years and have a wealth of experienced walk leaders who are equipped with both map and compass and GPS. (Normally, we would welcome new members and anyone wishing to come along on one of our outings to try hill walking for themselves, however we have now reached a maximum membership for the size of our coach). We offer a range of walks for all abilities, varying from around 4 or 5 miles near a town up to serious mountain treks which can be 12 to 15 miles.
